Torino have temporarily moved top of Serie A following a 3-2 away win at Hellas Verona on Monday evening
Goals from Ola Aina, Pietro Pellegri and Karol Linetty sealed an important three points for Ivan Juric’s side, who remain unbeaten in the league this season.
Verona, meanwhile, slipped to 18th in the standings after suffering their third defeat of the campaign.
Aina’s early strike set the tone for an entertaining encounter
The visitors took the lead after just five minutes when Aina’s low drive found the bottom corner.
Verona responded well and leveled the scores through Kevin Lasagna’s close-range finish in the 23rd minute.
However, Torino regained the lead just four minutes later when Pellegri headed home from a corner.
Linetty’s goal proved to be the winner
The Granata extended their advantage in the 35th minute through Linetty, who drilled a low shot into the net.
Verona pulled one back in the 64th minute when Darko Lazovic’s cross-shot found its way into the top corner.
But Torino held on for a valuable victory that sees them move two points clear of Napoli at the top of the Serie A standings.
