DALLAS — Luka Doncic returned to the lineup and had 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-106 on Saturday night, evening their two-game season series.
Doncic missed the Mavericks' previous game, a 104-101 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, with a left ankle injury. He showed no ill effects against the Timberwolves, making 9 of 18 shots from the field and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line.
Kristaps Porzingis added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who are now 14-16 on the season. Josh Richardson scored 18 points and Reggie Bullock had 17.
Karl-Anthony Towns led the Timberwolves with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony Edwards added 23 points and D'Angelo Russell had 21.
The Mavericks led by just three points, 58-55, at halftime, but they opened the third quarter with a 10-2 run to take a 68-57 lead.
The Timberwolves closed to within four points, 80-76, late in the third quarter, but the Mavericks answered with a 9-0 run to take a 89-76 lead.
The Timberwolves never got closer than five points the rest of the way.
